I want to thank again all those who worked so hard this past Saturday! An army of folks showed up to work on and around the building and your work is greatly appreciated. Projects included powerwashing the building, planting in the various beds around, reworking the picnic tables, cleaning the sign (did you know that background was white?) and a host of other things. You could recognize the workers, they were the ones moving slow and gently Sunday morning! Thank you for all your efforts. A special thanks to Keith Cannon, Bevan Collins and Jerry McCaskill for organizing the work.
Be praying as we are putting together our plans for Vacation Bible School this summer. The date is set for June 21-25. More details to follow. Also, we will be recognizing our graduates soon. If you are graduating from High School or College this spring, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can set the date. Also, you need to call Katrenia and get in information sheet so that we can include you in the celebration. Don’t forget the class being offered this summer during the Sunday School hour. This is a 13-week class that will be taught by Ron Lundin entitled, “The Christian in the Workplace.” Is work a necessary evil or is it a blessing from the Lord? Does the Scripture speak of my role in the workplace, my attitude towards my employer and my coworkers? As a Christian, how am I to think about my work?We will explore these and other questions. Anyone is welcome to sign-up for the course and when the course ends, go back to their regular class. We will be offering one “elective” course each quarter. In the fall, I will be teaching a class that is an “Introduction to Trinity.” We will take 6 weeks to look at our doctrinal statement, our church covenant, brief history of the Church and Trinity’s story. This class will be a great opportunity for those who are new to Trinity or for those who are thinking about joining or who just want a refresher. These “elective” courses are designed to compliment our on-going Sunday School program.
I hope you will join us Sunday as we continue our journey through the book of Judges
as we discover the very contemporary insights from this very ancient text.
I’ll see you Sunday!
